Know It All!
| This page is designed to acquaint you with Ink-Refills.com refill
products. The demonstration pages that follow should provide a helpful
step-by-step guide for accurate refilling. These demonstration pages
should not, however, be substituted for a thorough and comprehensive understanding
of our specially designed Ink-Refills.com refill instructions manual, which accompanies
every kit we sell.
To learn more about the contents of our refill kits and the joys of refilling, just select a topic from the dropdown window below. . . |
| Refilling most ink cartridges is quite simple. Most inkjet
cartridges and ink tanks have a sponge filled compartment that holds the
ink. The ink flows by gravity through the sponge and into the printhead
until empty.
Refilling is simply a matter of accessing the ink compartment and then injecting ink back into the sponge until saturated. Quite often we use a drill to reach the compartment and then inject ink with an injector/syringe and blunt needle. In the trade, this is often known as "Drill and Fill". Another type of cartridge, is the pressurized cartridge. Hewlett Packard (HP) is mostly responsible for making this type of cartridge - black ink cartridges only. The HP 51626 and 51629 are the ones with no sponge to absorb the ink, instead there is a bladder which holds the ink. These cartridges are usually accessed and refilled in the same way. The difference is that usually these cartridges require an additional step for them to work properly. Other black cartridges like the HP 51645 and C6615 are not a problem but must be stabilized. |
| Here are the tools that may come in one of our kits. They vary by
cartridge. Illustrated directions for your specific printer cartridge
are always included.
